My paintings are contemporary abstract images. I like to develop series of related works. The starting points can be an idea, concept or landscape. I often use a restricted palette of colour. I work mainly with paint but explore other media as well.

I work both on my own projects and collaboratively with some of my fellow artists in the Art-Routes group.

I am a Director of Arts in the Peak, an artist led organisation, which aims to promote the arts and artists living and working in the Peak District.

I support my own practice with arts facilitation and workshops, both in the community and in educational settings. I was the coordinator and secretary for Matlock Live, a community Arts Festival from 2004-2006.

I believe access to arts for all is important and that the arts enhance our life experiences.
