Artist

I am a Visual Artist working mainly with paint but explore other media as well. My paintings are contemporary abstract images. I develop series of related works, often using restricted palettes of colour. The starting points can be an idea, concept or landscape.

I am a Director of Arts in the Peak, an artist led organisation, which aims to promote the arts and artists living and working in the Peak District. www.artsinthepeak.org.uk

I support my own practice with arts facilitation and work part time as an administrator for Tangere Arts, a theatre and drama in education organisation. www.tangere-arts.co.uk

I was the coordinator for Matlock Live, a community cross Arts Festival from 2004-2006. As a representative of Matlock Live I was an active member of DADG.

I am currently concentrating on my own work but have run art workshops both in educational establishments and in the community. I am one of the first of eight Fine Artists to graduate from the University of Nottingham.

I believe access to arts for all is important and that the arts enhance our life experiences.
